Trading Terms

These Trading Terms apply to all orders placed with Thermohome Solar Limited for products and installation services. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

1. Definitions

  • "We/Us/Our" means Thermohome Solar Limited
  • "You/Your" means the customer
  • "Products" means solar panels, batteries, EV chargers, and related equipment
  • "Services" means installation, maintenance, and repair services
  • "Contract" means the agreement between us for the supply of Products and/or Services

2. Orders and Acceptance

Placing an Order

Orders can be placed through our website, by phone, or in person following a survey. All orders are subject to acceptance by us.

Acceptance

A Contract is formed when we send you written confirmation of your order. We reserve the right to decline any order.

Surveys

Most installations require a pre-installation survey. The survey is necessary to:

  • Assess property suitability
  • Confirm final pricing
  • Plan installation requirements
  • Identify any additional work needed

3. Pricing and Payment

Prices

All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the applicable rate. Prices are subject to change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already accepted.

Payment Terms

  • Deposit: A deposit is required to secure your installation date
  • Balance: The remaining balance is due on completion of installation
  • Finance: Finance options are available subject to status and affordability

Late Payment

We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.

4. Delivery and Installation

Installation Dates

We will arrange a mutually convenient installation date. While we endeavour to meet agreed dates, they are estimates only and not guaranteed.

Access

You must provide safe and clear access to your property for our installation team. You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions (e.g., from landlords or freeholders).

Delays

We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including weather, supply chain issues, or access problems.

5. Your Responsibilities

You must ensure:

  • Information provided to us is accurate and complete
  • The property is suitable and accessible for installation
  • Necessary permissions and consents are obtained
  • Someone over 18 is present during installation
  • Electrical supply meets requirements (or arrange upgrades)

6. Warranties and Guarantees

Product Warranties

Products come with manufacturer warranties as specified. Warranty terms vary by product and are detailed in your documentation.

Workmanship Guarantee

Our installation work is guaranteed for a minimum of 2 years from completion.

MCS Certification

All installations are MCS certified where applicable, enabling eligibility for government schemes such as the Smart Export Guarantee.

7. Cancellation Rights

Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have 14 days from the date of contract to cancel without giving a reason.

How to Cancel

To cancel, contact us in writing (email or post) with your order details.

Exceptions

Cancellation rights do not apply once installation has commenced with your agreement.

Refunds

Refunds for cancelled orders will be processed within 14 days, less any reasonable costs incurred.

We aim to resolve complaints within 14 days. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may refer it to:

  • The Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC)
  • Citizens Advice Consumer Service

9. Limitation of Liability

Our Liability

Our total liability under the Contract shall not exceed the total price paid.

Exclusions

We are not liable for:

  • Losses not caused by our breach
  • Business losses or loss of profit
  • Losses that were not foreseeable

Nothing Excluded

These terms do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemic, war, or government action.

11. Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By placing an order, you consent to such processing.

12. General

Entire Agreement

These terms constitute the entire agreement between us and supersede any prior arrangements.

Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in effect.

Waiver

Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.

Assignment

We may assign our rights under the Contract. You may not assign your rights without our consent.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
